NOTICE OF AGM & SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

Notice is hereby given to the Members of Equestrian Western Australia Incorporated that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Equestrian Western Australia Incorporated will be held on:

EWA will also be holding a Special General Meeting following the AGM. The purpose of the Special General Meeting is to set out the proposed amendments to the EWA Constitution to ensure that it complies with new law known as the Associations Incorporation Act 2015, seeking Member approval by special resolution. MORE

EA & ZOETIS UPDATE

Equestrian Australia yesterday announced that, in response to feedback from members, EA and Zoetis have mutually agreed to end the sponsorship agreement with immediate effect.

SEMINAR
EA OFFICIALS FORUM & COURSE

Date/Time: 23 & 24 June
Location: State Equestrian Centre
Cost: Promotion $75 (1 day and 1/2), Refresher $50 (1/2 day), Observer $25 (1 day)

This forum/course is for people interested in becoming an EA Official and current EA Officials needing to attend a Refresher Course for reaccreditation. Judges, riders and coaches are also welcome to attend to observe. The day will consist of presentations by EA National Medication Control Officer Dr Cate Plummer, FEI Steward General Chris Wallis and EA Officials Pathway Manager Di Saunders.

La Noir Saddleworld High Performance is excited to present a High Performance clinic with Lone Jorgensen. Lone is a Dual Olympian and Elite dressage coach and regularly works with High Performance riders to success. Lone will also be presenting a Masterclass open to all dressage enthusiasts at 7:00pm on Saturday 21 April at the State Equestrian Centre. EWA would like to thank Anna Latto Equestrian for hosting Lone's visit.

Got a question for Dressage WA? Here’s your opportunity to ask it! Join riders, coaches and officials for the first 2018 riders’ forum.

Questions must be submitted prior to the forum via the DWA Contact Form. There will be an open Q&A session with our guest panel of speakers including Dressage Judges Task Force Chair Hannie Byrne, EWA Steward Janet Reid, DWA Chair Suzanne Simons and EWA Board Chairman Ron Fleming. Finger food provided. Horseland will also be offering 10% off storewide (excluding Samshield, Freejump and sale items) on the night!

RSVPs are essential for catering/numbers.

PRELIMINARY LEVEL WORKSHOP

Date/Time: 5 May, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Location: State Equestrian Centre - Classroom & C-Quest Arena
Cost: $99 incl. facility fee, lunch & morning tea (subsidised by the DDF fund)

Join fellow riders for a full day immersion to help lay the foundations of your horse's dressage career! This workshop will offer riders a good basic understanding of the Preliminary level from everyday training to competition. Includes a seminar, video and ridden demonstrations, test riding and judge feedback. Guest presenters include Hazel Hikins (A-level Dressage Judge, Mentor & Level 2 Dressage Coach) and Chris Sharpe (B-level Dressage Judge & Level 1 General Coach).

INTRODUCTORY JUDGES WORKSHOP

Eventing is a thriving sport in WA but event organisers often find it difficult to secure enough judges for their lower level classes. To help alleviate this, you are invited to become a Trainee EA Eventing Dressage Judge.

This workshop will cover the rules, open rule book test, the role of the judge and requirements of EA Eventing Tests, plus a Q&A session. Presented by PollyAnn Huntington (Judge Educator) and Elaine Greene (Mentor).

2018 INTERSCHOOL EQUESTRIAN FESTIVAL

The 2018 EWA Saddles Plus Interschool Equestrian Festival kicks off next Wednesday 18 April at the State Equestrian Centre!

The timetable is available here and spectators are welcome. Come down and watch some Dressage, Jumping, Show Horse, Combined Training and browse the trade village on the President's Lawn.

And don't forget about the Careers in Racing Off the Track Challenge being held on the Friday evening at 7:30pm. This is an exciting, fast-paced competition showcasing off the track horses competing in the Festival. The bar will be open and a food van on site.
