How You Can Help Increase HPV Vaccination Rates in Utah
From July 2021- May 2022, you can help in the effort to get kids vaccinated in Utah’s lowest performing health districts for HPV vaccination. If your practice is located in Bear River, Southeast, Southwest, Tri County, or Utah County Health Districts, you can be a part of a pilot to test the implementation of a tailored clinic-focused, evidence-based HPV vaccination intervention at six primary care clinics. This pilot only requires a one-two hour time commitment per month for about six months and compensation and marketing materials will be provided.

Students and Residents: Scholarships for National Conference Available
The American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation is offering $200 FML Scholarships for students and residents to attend National Conference.
The 2021 AAFP Virtual National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students will take place July 29–31. Past attendees consistently rate this event as an invaluable opportunity because of the practical sessions, networking, and chance to learn more about family medicine.
The AAFP is interested in recruiting a diverse group of scholarships applicants including students and residents from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in medicine, as well as from rural communities, lower socioeconomic backgrounds, and those interested in caring for underserved populations. Students and residents are encouraged to submit a scholarship application. The application deadline is June 1.

Call for Abstracts
UAFP Student & Resident Poster Session
UAFP plans to return to an in-person format for our 2nd annual Student & Resident Poster Session on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the University of Utah Alumni House.
UAFP invites students, residents, and fellows, to submit an abstract in research, clinical quality project, or theoretical/conceptual format. Cash prizes will be awarded. Abstracts are due no later than Saturday, July 31. Learn more at utahafp.org/postersession2021

As part of the AAFP's Leading Physician Well-being certificate program, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is offering a new webinar: "Physician Mental Health: Preventing Suicide and Building Resilience."
During the discussion, the speakers emphasize the fact that physicians and other health care professionals who are successful in protecting and promoting their own mental well-being also maintain their ability to provide optimal care for their patients; they are less likely to commit medical errors or fall victim to burnout and more likely to experience professional fulfillment and remain in the profession long term. Seeking Family Medicine Reps at UMA House of Delegates
UMA House of Delegates will be in-person again this year, September 10 & 11 at the Zermatt Resort in Midway, UT. UAFP still have spots open for members who want to represent family medicine physicians at this annual event where UMA determines its policy positions for the upcoming year.
