EQUESTRIAN VICTORIA NEWS

JUNE 2018

Strategic Plan 2018-2022.
A plan for the future.

Welcome to the June edition of EV News.

This month we are excited to dedicate our communication to you, our community, around our plan for the future of equestrian sport in Victoria.

Over the past months, the EV Board and CEO have been reviewing all aspects of the organisation and exploring ideas and opportunities for the future.

As a result of this work, our 4-year strategic plan has been developed identifying four key pillars; Industry Leadership, Sport Development, Facility Oversight and Organisational Excellence.  The Plan will enable the EV team to leverage the sport’s strengths while taking advantage of partnerships and new opportunities.

“Equestrian sport in Victoria is approaching a new era of engagement,” said Matthew Brown, CEO. “We have a strong community of like-minded people, a significant volunteer network, and a reputation for running great events.

Our Plan aims to support a strategic re-set of the way EV does business, redefining the purpose and strategic focus of the organisation, and focusing heavily on greater engagement and consultation with EV members.

We want to work with our most important stakeholders, our members, to identify ways to create more value for the sport and the broader community.”

Recently appointed Board Chair, Mitch Fox said “the EV Board is extremely excited about the Plan, and believe it provides a sound platform for improved administration, and significant growth and development of the sport.

In creating the Plan, the Board identified a set of values that will become a cultural compass for the way we operate and the standards of behaviour we expect of our Board, staff, volunteers and representatives.  These values of Professionalism, Integrity, Transparency and Collaboration will guide our decisions, actions and conversations at Board and we are confident our membership will adopt them also.”

As part of EV’s commitment to greater consultation and engagement, a roadshow is scheduled for August where CEO Matthew Brown will visit metro and regional areas to meet with stakeholders and discuss the future of EV, presenting the Plan in detail and listening to the equestrian community.  More details about the roadshow will be available soon, with bookings to be made via Trybooking.

In the meantime, a copy of the Strategic Plan can be found by clicking on the button below and members are encouraged to read the Plan and forward any questions or comments to Matthew Brown via email matthewbrown@equestrianvictoria.com.au.

We look forward to a future that boasts a thriving equestrian community where everyone can live their equestrian dream.
