Local History: Coffee and Conversation

Come along to Local History: Coffee and Conversation where you can share your Redlands Coast stories and photos, and to hear and see the local history items that we have already collected.

Free event. Bookings essential as numbers are limited.

A Case of Emergency 10 -11.30am

Fictional case: Help solve the mystery of the missing person using forensic science including UV light to find hidden clues with fingerprinting evidence, digital microscope, scatology – animal poo samples (fake!) and animal tracks.

Author-in-Action with Nick Earls

Join Nick Earls, author of the bestselling novels Zigzag Street and Bachelor Kisses, as he talks about his 2015 prize winning work the Wisdom Tree novellas - described as ‘a triumphant and extraordinary piece of fiction’ by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Nick will also share his personal experiences as a writer.

Pathway to Publishing - Writers' Panel

Join us for an evening with three published authors who will discuss their three different pathways to publishing their books.

Save your photos with Trish Johansen

Do you have boxes of old prints, slides, negatives or albums that are deteriorating?  Organising your printed photo collection can seem like an overwhelming task.

In this workshop you will learn simple strategies to make it easier to take control and gain peace of mind knowing your photos are safe. Discover some important tips on scanning your photo collections too.

Participants to bring:
• a few packets of photos to sort, approx 100 photos or more
• a pair of white cotton gloves
• 5-10 Zip lock bags to put photos into
• Sticky notes (to write info on)
• Pen or Pencil
• Notebook to take notes

Great Book Sale and Local Author Expo

Come grab a bargain at our great book sale and meet local authors as they speak about their writing experience and display their books. 

All proceeds from the book sale will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

Books by the local authors will be available for purchase and signing.

Discover the world of robotics in this fun learning environment that encourages problem solving, teamwork and programming. This is an eight week program.

Participants will work to create a maze and then code their robot to complete the maze in the quickest time.

Discover the world of coding by experimenting with different programs to create games, animations, coding, puzzles, mazes and more.

Put your engineering skills to the test by creating amazing structures with newspaper.

Public Holiday Closure

Redland Libraries will be closed on Monday 7 October for the Queen's Birthday Public Holiday. After-hours return chutes will be closed during this time.
