Sports Turf Management as Essential Work

The South Australian Government have published updated information on Essential Workers under Level 5 restrictions.
Under the provisions for “List of Essential Workers”, is the following exemption:

• Greenkeeper services that are essential to maintain a playing surface at any sporting facility.

Therefore, turf management is listed as essential work, allowing maintenance and management work to continue at sport and recreation facilities throughout the Level 5 Stay at Home Restrictions.

Please ensure the board of management of each club are aware of and agree to anyone persons attending the premises to complete this function. This means greenkeepers are permitted to perform essential maintenance only, while things such as weeding garden beds, watering plants and landscaping are NOT permitted.
