ALERT: China Customs to check all Australian airfreight shipments

The STAG ALERT is produced for Australian Seafood Exporters, containing very important updates that may impact trade.

The STAG has just received advice that from 30th July 2020, China Customs will be checking all Australia airfreight shipments.

The checks will be to ensure:

  • Declared weights are correct
  • Labels are correct
  • Original documents are with the cargo

Delays in clearing cargo are to be expected.

We recommend all live exporters place original documents inside a marked carton to ensure no lost documents in transit.

It is critical that all freight forwarders and exporters need to be extra vigilant on shipping documents at this point in time.  It is also vitally important that declaration statistics match those with the actual arrival such as scientific name, Latin name, production date, number of registration factory, destination etc.

Please inform the STAG at admin@seafoodtradeadvisory.com if you experience any serious delays or issues.
