Level 2 (7:15pm)
Swingouts - Focus on the Send-Out

w/ Katie & Justin

Do you and your social dancing partners a favor by taking care of them during one of the most important moves in lindy hop, the Swing Out! Learn useful new ways to think about the dance, and expand your knowledge base and options for how to execute great and comfortable swingouts for both your leaders and your followers! This class focuses mostly on counts 4,5&6 of the swingout, and also deals with what the follow can do creatively when that happens!

PRE-REQUISITES: Execute a swingout, lindy circle, charleston and 6-count moves and transition between them in open and closed positions. No partner required, just bring your enthusiasm!

Level 3 (7:15pm)
Connection

w/ Idalia & Kevin

In this social dance of ours, it is our connection with our partners that makes it MAGIC. In this series, you will learn to play and move with connection, to listen actively to both leads and follows, and how to use that connection to build increasingly complex and great feeling dances.

PRE-REQUISITES: At least nine consecutive months of Level 1 and Level 2 including one full year of social dance, or discuss your eligibility with instructors.  Under-qualified students will be asked to transfer to Level 2 in order to strengthen their fundamentals.

IDALIA RAMOS & KEVIN WENG

AUDREY HO & PAUL CSONKA

Elective (8:15pm)
Vision Boarding — Using Choreo to Get Your Goals

w/ Lori & James

Joining a performance group can bring many benefits: new friends, an opportunity to show off your skills, and a greater connection to the wider lindy hop community.  But it's also a site for personal growth in technique, vocabulary, and musicality.  In this class, we'll explore exercises from our performance and musicality backgrounds that will make you a more creative, compassionate, and musical partner on any social dance floor!

PRE-REQUISITES: Coming soon!

Live Music w/ The Ivory Club Boys

Join us for a very special night of dancing with the Ivory Club Boys. We can always count on them to bring our best dancing out of us with their exceptional performance; this time, however, they'll also present us with their brand-new arrangements. We're very excited, and hope that you are, too!

The Ivory Club Boys, an offshoot of the Hot Club of San Francisco, pay tribute to jazz violinist Stuff Smith and his Onyx Club Boys of the mid-1930s. One of a handful of violinists to populate the swing era, Stuff Smith is credited with being the first to play jazz on an electrically amplified violin, forever changing its role to a frontline solo instrument on par with horn soloists.
