Register Now for "Around the World" Christmas Camp Coming to BES on December 18-22, 2017

For the first time ever, our school is offering a Christmas Camp on December 18-22, 2017 to all BES students! The theme this year is "Around the World!" Students will experience the unique Christmas customs from five different countries across the globe. Students will have a blast with cooking, music, games, arts, and crafts related to the "Around the World" theme.

Christmas Camp takes place from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. each day ($200 for the week), and Extended Day is offered prior (8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.) and after (1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.) at a per day cost (see the registration form below for details). Those staying for Extended Day in the afternoon should bring a sack lunch from home each day.

Parents may opt to either bill their FACTS account or pay by check (made payable to "BES" with "Christmas Camp" in the memo field).

Contact Nicole Limbaugh by email or at (904) 246-2466 with any questions.

Register Your Students Now for the GORUCK Teamwork Challenge on November 3rd!

The first ever GORUCK Teamwork Challenge will take place at BES on Friday, November 3rd. The GORUCK event is designed to create a team-building experience centered on the shared values of Beaches Episcopal School and US Special Forces. Led by an experienced combat veteran of Special Operations, classes will complete light physical and mental challenges as a team. These challenges will reinforce the BES Honor Code, which is to uphold the values of respect, integrity, and responsibility. Below is the schedule for our different grade level students.

SCHEDULE
Lower School:  Pre-K 3 to 2nd Grade 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
Upper School: 3rd Grade to 6th Grade 1:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

IMPORTANT!
Parents must fill out a single registration on behalf of each child and complete the checkout process (even though the total cost will be $0). Since the checkout process only allows for one waiver to be signed at a time, parents with multiple children at BES will have to repeat this process for each child.

For any issues with sign-up that cannot be resolved, parents can email team@goruck.com.

WEIGHT REQUIREMENT
The weight in your rucksack aka backpack makes it rucking. The amount required for the GORUCK event depends on your grade level. If you are in Pre-k to 2nd grade, you need a filled water bottle and a stuffed animal (not your favorite) in your backpack. If you are in 3rd to 6th grade, you need a filled water bottle plus one can of food (that will be donated to BEAM).

WHAT TO BRING
A rucksack or backpack, your weight requirement (see above), and a water bottle filled with water.

PARENTS MUST COMPLETE ONLINE REGISTRATION AND WAVIER FOR STUDENTS.

Follow this online link to register and complete waiver (click on "Sign Up Now" button):

If you happen to see a "SOLD OUT" message on the registration website, please call the school office at (904) 246-2466 so that we can add your students to the list of participants. The event is FREE.

Parents or guardians are invited to watch the event, so we hope you'll join us!
