GOW GATES CLUB DEVELOPMENT GRANT RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Congratulations to the 6 WA clubs who were selected for the 2017 Gow-Gates Club Development Grant Program.

• Serpentine Horse and Pony Club
• Southern Hills Eventing Inc
• WAYER CIC at Brigadoon

These clubs will receive funding to assist with projects and initiatives focused on safety and risk management. MORE

EWA NCAS TRAINING & ASSESSMENT DAY

COACH RENEWALS OPEN 6 JUNE

Coaching renewals will open on 6 June. This year renewals will be processed entirely online by logging into your MyEA profile. As normal, EA will require coaches to submit copies of the following documents to ensure they still meet the re-accreditation requirements for holding a NCAS qualification:

• First Aid Certificate
• Working with Children Check
• Evidence of attendance to Coach Update within last 3 years
• Insurance Certificate of Currency (if selecting the Registration Only option)
• Coaching Activities Form completed

EA are currently working with Gow-Gates to finalise the insurance premiums for the 2017/18 financial year. Once this has been confirmed the renewal fee will be released. MORE

HIGH PERFORMANCE FORUM & WORKSHOP

22 July at the State Equestrian Centre. This forum and workshop is FREE and COMPULSORY for all La Noir Saddleworld High Performance Athletes. Coaches of High Performance Athletes are welcome and encouraged to attend.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CLINIC WITH LONE JORGENSEN

EWA La Noir Saddleworld High Performance is excited to present a clinic on 8-10 August with Danish Olympian Lone Jorgensen. Lone is a Dual Olympian and elite dressage coach and regularly works with high performance riders to success.

Lone will also be presenting a Master Class open to all dressage enthusiasts at 7:00pm Wednesday 11 August at the State Equestrian Centre.

EWA would like to thank Anna Latto Equestrian for her contribution in bringing Lone to Western Australia for this clinic.

DAVID SHOOBRIDGE CLINIC

David Shoobridge is returning to WA on 9-11 June for another clinic. These clinics are always very popular, so get in quick so you don't miss out. VALLEY EQUINE VETERINARY CENTRE

The WA Eventing Committee would like to thank Warwick Vale and the team at Valley Equine Veterinary Centre for their continued support of our state's eventing community.

Valley Equine Veterinary Centre provides $2500 each year to Eventing WA, plus veterinary attendance at one WA FEI CIC/CCI event in an FEI Veterinary Delegate Capacity, and two annual veterinary lectures to WA Eventing Squad Members.

They also sponsor the FEI Young Eventing Rider of the Year Award, which aims to foster the young eventing rider into FEI competitions. The award includes a prize for the most outstanding and successful horse/rider combination of the year and allows for some financial assistance for further training and education for that combination during the following year.

MEDICAL PROTOCOLS UPDATE

Eventing WA has issued an update containing a reminder regarding medical checks after falls at an event, and advice regarding concussion protocol. Please note that a 21-day suspension can now be imposed following a concussion sustained at an event. MORE

The first round of invitations have now been sent to the horse and rider combinations selected to represent WA at the 2017 Australian Interschool Championships to be held 26-29 September in Toowoomba, QLD. MORE

2018 & 2019 AUS INTERSCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP HOSTS ANNOUNCED

Equestrian Australia today announced the two hosts for the next Australian Interschool Championships. The 2018 Championships will be held at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, VIC, and the 2019 Championships will be held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, NSW. MORE

JUMPING SQUAD APPLICATIONS & UPDATE FORMS

Applications to join the EWA La Noir Saddleworld Jumping Squads are now open. These must be received by 4pm Monday 10 July for consideration to be included on the squad.

Update forms from current members are now being accepted and due no later than 4pm Monday the 10 July. Members are requested for forward these updates prior to this date unless competing at GCEC Jumping. MORE
