Rotary Chicken Barbecue

The annual Rotary Chicken BBQ is coming up soon! This Rotary BBQ has been taking place annually for over 40 years in this community as a fundraiser.

Tickets are $10 and includes chicken or Sam's veggie "chicken," potato salad, a roll, baked beans, and a cookie. Pick up tickets at the front desk at PMC during regular office hours.

This is a great way for PMC members to be involved and make a difference in the community. On a local level, Rotary gives scholarships to outstanding students, helps subsidize the Andrews Academy Educational Tour, and helps with local disasters like the flood that happened two years ago. On an international level, Rotary works to bring clean water to dry communities, end polio, and much more. You can read more about their international work here.

Thanks for using this opportunity to make a practical difference in the lives of this community and beyond.

Thursday, August 8, 4:00 - 7:00 PM
Location: Berrien Springs Middle School

Celebration of Life

On Friday afternoon, July 12, Richard (Dick) Scott, went quietly to sleep in Jesus. Even though he battled with ALS for several years his faithfulness to his Lord was seen each week as he attended Sabbath School and second service until six days before his death. He is survived by his wife, Dixie (Beardsley) Scott, his son Bill Scott and family, and daughter, Shelley (Dwayne) Bolin and family. Funeral services will be held in the Howard Performing Arts Center on Friday, July 19. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. with the service following at 11:00. We pray for the comforting grace and hope of Christ our Savior for the entire Scott and Beardsley families.

On Sunday morning, July 14, Phyllis Staples, wife of Dr. Russell Staples, went to sleep in Jesus. She was the mother of Dianne Staples, Associate Professor of English, and Jillian Hamer of New Jersey. Phyllis and Russell were faithful volunteers at the Howard Performing Arts Center, and as Russell stated to me this morning she had an exceptional love of music! A celebration of her life will be held in the Seminary Chapel on Thursday, July 18, at 11:00 am. Please support this family with your prayers as we await the resurrection of this gracious lady.

With these families, we pray, "Come soon, Lord Jesus."

Can't Worship at Pioneer this Summer?

Everyone loves the freedom of summertime—and you, too, will be visiting new places and enjoying old company in the weeks ahead. But in your summer travels, please don’t forget Pioneer back at home. Anywhere you go you can access www.adventistgiving.org. Or better yet download the Adventist Giving app (at your App Store). Your summertime faithfulness keeps every ministry of Pioneer growing. And keeps Renovate: Heart & Home growing, too, in time for us all to return to Pioneer at summer’s end. Thank you.
