demos & sampling

TODAY: Talluto’s Pasta

Tuesday, July 11, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Weavers Way Chestnut Hill
Local favorite Talluto’s has been cranking out delizioso pasta and sauces for 50 years, and they’ll be here with samples for you to savor. Look for gnocchi, ravioli and sauces that are creamy and zesty.

TODAY, TOO: Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth

Tuesday, July 11, 2-5 p.m. Weavers Way Chestnut Hill
Get that image of a steaming cup of soup out of your head. A rep from Ancient Nutrition will show you how to mix protein powders (in flavors like vanilla, coffee and turmeric) into fresh juices, thus making it easy to bump up your nutrient quotient. (Weather permitting, this demo will take place in front of Weavers Way Next Door.)

THIS WEEKEND:
Zsa’s Ice Cream

Friday, July 14, 4-7 p.m. , Weavers Way Chestnut Hill
Saturday, July 15, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Weavers Way Mt. Airy
Sara
from Erdenheim’s own Zsa’s will add a cool, tasty treat to your weekend with samples of artisanal ice cream in flavors like Lemon Buttermilk, Berry Crisp and Black Magic.

Nanna’s Secret Carrot Marmalade

Sunday, July 16, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Weavers Way Chestnut Hill
Hoda
, the owner and purveyor of Nanna’s Secret of Bucks County, will set up shop in the back of the store to offer tastes of her Egyptian grandmother’s carrot-orange "marmalade." She blends it with sour cream or mascarpone cheese to use as a dip, and employs it as a cake frosting. Or try it a base for a marinade or dressing.

A Fantastic Cheese Foursome

Sunday, July 16, 3-7 p.m., Weavers Way Chestnut Hill
Demo dude John Connor will present a quartet of cheeses — two raw and two pasteurized, two local and two from afar. From Valley Milkhouse Creamery in Berks County, he’ll have Lady Slipper, an apple cider-washed raw milk fromage, and Blue Bell, a sweet blue sheep/cow combo. From Jasper Hill Farm in Vermont, he’ll offer up Willoughby, whose rind is washed in a gose from Lost Nation Brewing, also of Vermont. Lastly, he’ll head down South to Sweet Grass Dairy of Thomasville, GA, proffering Green Hill, a soft-ripened cow’s milk in the style of Camembert.

NEXT WEEK: Breakaway Farms Meats

Tuesday, July 18, 3-6 p.m., Weavers Way Chestnut Hill
Bacon and burgers will be on the menu, as John from Breakaway Farms of Mt. Joy, Lancaster County, brings out the grill to serve up samples of free-range, antibiotic-free pork and beef. Bacon? Burgers? What could be better?
