When History Is His Story
Some have attributed to Confucius the proverb, "A picture is worth a thousand words." So let's share a 5000-word history (five pictures) that ends with the birth of the Pioneer Memorial Church exactly sixty years ago right now—captured in five black and white photographs, mounted on the back wall of our sanctuary, each with a gold plaque of explanation—all of them a gift of the Emmanuel Missionary College Class of 1953. Se veral years ago my son looked forward to the part in Sabbath School when they dress up as missionaries. His favorite costume was the construction worker. Then one Christmas we boarded a plane to Nicaragua on a mission trip. You should have seen the big and wide smile on his face as he painted the walls of a church school. What he learned and dreamed in Sabbath School class was coming true. Read more

Backpacks for Berrien Collection
Each month one of the various denominational churches in Berrien Springs collects food to be distributed on Fridays by Backpacks for Berrien to Berrien Springs public school students who otherwise may not have much to eat over the weekend. January and February are PMC's months. The food must be packaged in individual serving sizes. No cans or bottles. By the types of food we select to donate, we can even make a health statement. Here are the healthful items on the Backpacks’ food list: fruit cups, pasta, rice, beans, nuts, protein bars. Food can be brought to the church and placed in the collection box in the lobby.

Pioneer welcomes all members to its next business session on February 25, 2019. Come for supper at 6:00 PM with the business meeting at 7:00 PM. Hear reports and updates regarding our building program and church life.
