Welcome Back to Business Breakfast Networking Event We are excited to finally open our doors to business networking again. Join us at Woodville Town Hall on Wednesday 18 November for a lively discussion on resilience, innovation and creativity during the pandemic and what the future holds. Facilitated by Channel 7 Adelaide’s chief political reporter Mike Smithson, our panellists will include business representatives from our community. You'll also hear from Deloitte Australia partner Aaron Hill lead author of Deloitte’s “Make it Adelaide” report series on how to build South Australia’s economic future, where the economy is heading and the opportunities for growth. Martin Haese, CEO of Business SA will then join Aaron in a discussion on what the future could hold for our business community. You will also have time to ask questions. Plus we'll share insights into the latest funding, resources, and opportunities available and give you the opportunity to chat with other businesses. Roads2Civil Graduation We were delighted to congratulate the first students to participate in the Roads2Civil pilot project delivered by Henley High School and the Western Adelaide Secondary Schools Network (WASSN) in partnership with the City of Charles Sturt, Civil Train SA, Civil Apprenticeships and Careers Ltd and Renewal SA’s Works Program. With construction our second biggest sector employing just under 5,000 employees in the City. This is a fantastic example of providing a link between school and the community to develop students’ enterprise and employability skills to meet future industry expectations. Guided by an experienced mentor and with assistance from industry experts, this is an opportunity to develop your skills and confidence to implement your business plan. This 12-month workshop and mentoring program covers business fundamentals including finance, sales, marketing, human resources and leadership. Business Support HelplineThe City of Charles Sturt in conjunction with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and the Adelaide Business Hub are continuing the FREE Business Support Helpline as a first response support service for our small businesses. Rate Relief - Rebates & Concessions If you have you been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis though a loss of employment or your business has been forced to close or restrict activities due to State or Federal government restrictions, you may be entitled to rate relief. For full criteria, head to our COVID-19 Hardship Policy and application on our website. For any rate payment queries or concerns, please contact us on 8408 1111 or council@charlessturt.sa.gov.au. NBN Business Fibre Zones in Charles Sturt Much of the City of Charles Sturt has been included as part of the new nbn Business Fibre Zones which will provide businesses access to nbn’s premium direct fibre at no build cost and significantly reduced wholesale prices. Businesses in these areas can use the ‘Check Your Address’ function on the nbn website to see if they are eligible. |
