ACTIVE COMMUNITIES — PARKS PROGRAMOctober is here, which means it is finally time to start shedding the layers and get outside to enjoy the sunshine. Tuesday 22 October marks the start of Glen Eira Leisure’s Active Communities — Parks Program, including Tai Chi, Family Yoga and Active Paws dog walk for you and your fur friend. These classes are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness and will run in six week blocks. All classes are held in the beautiful parks throughout the Glen Eira. SENIORS WEEK AT GLEN EIRA LEISURETake the opportunity from Monday 7 October to Sunday 13 October to find out about a range of classes that seniors can take part in. Senior residents are invited to get active and healthy with the free sessions on offer at Glen Eira Leisure facilities — GESAC and Caulfield Recreation Centre. Effective 1 December 2019, children under age 10 will be required to wear a coloured wristband based on their age. Wristbands will be provided by Glen Eira Leisure. AUSTSWIM TEACHER TRAINING AT GESACBecome an AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety and develop essential knowledge, skill and understanding to teach vital swimming and water safety education. Held at GESAC on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October, an AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety has an influential role that engages and interacts with students (four years to adults) leading skills and drills that provide knowledge, skill and understanding in water safety and swimming in pools and confined natural shallow water venues. MYPHYSIO HELPING TO GET YOUR WORKOUT OPTIMISED SAFELYDo you have a pre-existing or current injury and work out or push through pain while exercising? Based at GESAC, MYPHYSIO staff are perfectly placed to help you. MYPHYSIO can help customise your goals and exercise program to accommodate any issues that you have. In addition, they can work with you in the gym to ensure that you are moving correctly, minimising the risk of injury or aggravation and optimising your workout for maximum impact.
