The NZ Composer Sessions is a collaboration between the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, SOUNZ Centre for New Zealand Music, and RNZ Concert. The following works will be rehearsed and performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and recorded by RNZ Concert in July:
Composer Chris Artley's ‘O My Children, My Poor Children!’, for SATB choir and big band, was premiered before a full house at the International Schools Choral Music Society (ISCMS) Gala Concert at Shanghai Symphony Hall on 23 February. Toni Huata, SOUNZ’s Kaihautū Puoro Māori - Director of Māori Music, talks to The Big Idea's Emanuella de Ruiter about her passion for music and tikanga Māori.Claire Scholes, winner of the 2019 SOUNZ Commission for Orchestra and Sistema Youth Orchestra, was interviewed by RNZ about her upcoming commission.
