Grab those new sneakers that Santa left for you and join Sylvia this Saturday for block walking and a barbecue! We have knocked on thousands of doors and our mail is hitting mailboxes but we have so much more work to do to guarantee we have our fighter for jobs, education and healthcare in Austin.

Block Walk and BBQ
Neighbors talking to neighbors is one of the most effective things a Sylvia supporter can do to help spread the word about this election. This weekend we will have three opportunities for volunteers to help block walk and phone bank throughout the district.

After you talk to voters, join us at the campaign headquarters for a barbecue at 3pm!

• South Side Block Walk: Meet in front of Cristo Rey High School - 6700 Mt. Caramel, Houston, TX 77087 at 10am
• Pasadena Block Walk: Meet at the Shipley's Do-Nuts - 211 S. Richey Road, Pasadena, TX 77506 at 1pm
• East End Block Walk: Meet at Merida Mexican Restaurant - 2509 Navigation Street, Houston, TX 77003 at 10am
• Headquarters Phone Bank and Block Walk: Meet at our campaign headquarters at 12753 East Frwy (I-10 and Normandy) at 10am

We will say goodbye to 2012 and say hello to 2013 in 4 days. A new year brings new challenges for our state. And Senate District 6 will send Sylvia Garcia to Austin to fight for affordable and accessible healthcare, to fight Governor Perry’s attacks on public education and continue to fight for jobs with fair wages. As the balloons drop and fireworks welcome the New Year, Sylvia will start off 2013 with the same values she learned as one of ten children- work hard, listen to others and respect one another.

I hope this holiday season was joyous and that the New Year will bring you and your loved ones peace, love and joy. As you know the special election is on January 26 and early vote starts on January 9th. This election is about you and your families. If you will invite your neighbors and friends to come by this weekend and visit with me we can do much together. I’m so grateful for everything you have done to this point and I thank you. Working together, we are going to begin this new chapter in the Texas story together.
