Registration for all other students and advisors is only $50 each. We encourage you to register early! The deadline for registration is March 19, 2021. PREPARING FOR THE GENERAL ASSEMBLYResolutions: Have you reviewed and discussed the current resolution packet? We encourage you to review the more than 25 resolutions that the Delegates attending the General Assembly will consider to guide the SSCCC into next year. Students should discuss these resolutions in their student body associations, clubs, regions, and wherever student leaders are gathered. You can find the resolution packet on our website at this link. if you would like to learn more about the Resolution Debate at the upcoming General Assembly, please attend our Webinar on March 20th at 12:00 pm. You can join the webinar via this link. Elections: During the General Assembly, the Delegates will elect the incoming officers for the 2021 - 22 Board of Directors. The candidates and their statements are now available on the SSCCC website at this link. You can also join the candidates as they take questions from the delegates and others during the Candidate Forum on March 26th at 3:00 pm. Check out the process to be used during the elections at this link. Agenda: The preliminary program for the General Assembly is posted on the SSCCC at this link. The Conference Committee has also approved 20 workshops to be offered during the General Assembly. We are looking for student leaders who can bring their experiences and passions to higher education policymaking. The Student Senate for California Community Colleges is seeking student leaders who would be interested in serving on the California Community College Board of Governors or the California Student Aid Commission. Meet the Newest SSCCC EmployeeRosita Olalde is the newest SSCCC staff member and will serve as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director. Rosita is originally from the beautiful Oregon Willamette Valley. She earned her Associate of Art Oregon Transfer Degree (AAOT) from Chemeketa Community College before obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy & Administration from Western Oregon University. Rosita is currently working towards her Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership through Western Oregon University. She also served as a student leader throughout her college career in various roles with Phi Theta Kappa, Oregon College Mentors, and multiple campus departments. Prior to joining the Student Senate, she worked for a higher education non-profit and a K-12 charter school in administrative support roles. ![]() SSCCC Fun FactsDid you know that the SSCCC once had a position called "System Affairs Directors" or "SAD"? Individuals holding the SAD positions would primarily sit on statewide participatory governance groups to ensure regional representation throughout the state. However, these positions were eliminated and the governance groups opened to all Board of Directors positions and students at large.
