Review process

The first stage of the review process is to seek stakeholder feedback on the current CoPTTM.

Any significant updates to the CoPTTM have been on hold for the last 13 months. However, Waka Kotahi has continued to monitor and record feedback relating to the CoPTTM and issues with its practical application. Ranging from very simple to complex, these all have an impact on the way in which the code is used or interpreted on roadworks sites

Feedback process summary

It is important to note that feedback is sought from any individual or organisation and all feedback submitted will be considered without prejudice.

Feedback using the specific form will be collected and collated by Waka Kotahi’s update administration team. It will then be reviewed by a CoPTTM Industry Reference Group, with recommended changes effected by the Waka Kotahi CoPTTM Governance Group. This is intended to ensure the affected industries’ continued involvement and reflects the ownership of the document by Waka Kotahi. Feedback should include reference to specific clauses or diagrams within the current CoPTTM version wherever relevant.

Feedback should be positive and include evidence of any issues raised, along with additional supplementary documentation to show how the issue was resolved without using the CoPTTM. This could include an individual organisation or industry’s own version of a ‘TTM Code of Practice’, if one has been developed to satisfy a specific, specialist requirement.

In addition, structured group feedback helps to consolidate issues and will help simplify the update process. Please include the group name and contributing organisations at the top of the form, however only a single contact person is required. The feedback form will also allow Waka Kotahi to record the way in which an issue is resolved and feedback to the individual contributor, including the updated clause reference, wording or diagram as appropriate.

Innovation

This review provides an opportunity to present ideas and new practice for consideration for inclusion in the CoPTTM. These should be accompanied by supporting documents and examples that illustrate how the new practice could be applied and the problem that the innovation addresses.
