Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident Family Member,

RE: COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families - Calvary Haydon Retirement Community

Calvary is pleased to inform residents and families that at the time of writing, the number of current active cases remains ten (10) residents and four (4) members of staff.

As  previously advisedyou will receive a daily written update and regular calls, unless any new developments require us to be in contact more often. This is due to the situation at Calvary Haydon remaining stable for the past seven days.

Calls to families will be made on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. A reminder that from midmorning next Monday 11 October, the facility’s main phone line, currently diverted to our call centre, will return to direct communication with the facility as per pre-outbreak arrangements.

We also remind you that WebEx video call service remains available to support the social connections of loved ones. Please call (02) 6264 7538 to make a booking. A staff member will be available this weekend to take these bookings between 10am- 5pm.

Please be assured that our dedicated team of leisure and lifestyle staff and allied health practitioners, including physiotherapists and pastoral carers will continue to ensure the holistic care needs of all residents are met.

The re-testing of St Teresa residents and staff and Mary Potter COVID-negative residents and staff is occurring as advised by ACT Health. All other residents (of St Patrick, St Margaret and St Francis households) will continue to be closely monitored by our staff for any COVID-19 symptoms and we will respond with isolating a resident and ordering a COVID-19 test in the instance any symptoms are identified.

We are pleased that residents of St Patrick, St Margaret and St Francis households of the facility are permitted more freedom of movement. We continue to work closely with ACT Health, and will ease restrictions in movement for the residents of other households as soon as it is safe to do so.

Our dedicated staff continue to work diligently to keep all residents safe from infection. Our staff are trained in strict infection prevention and control protocols and continue to provide all resident care while wearing the appropriate PPE at all times.
