Library Update - Important Information
Temporary Library Closure
All Redland City Council Libraries are closed until further notice. This measure has been taken in order to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and to help keep our community and people safe.
Our book chutes are closed but please don’t worry about any overdue items, as all loans have been extended and there will be no fines. Rest assured that you can return your books when the libraries re-open.

Library Membership
Not a member?
If you are not a Library member, you can register for a temporary digital membership. Membership is free and will give you access to all our e-services. Join now.

Library membership will give you access to our online library with digital collections like eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eFilms.
Online Library Services - Available 24/7
Our online library services provide you with 24/7 access to a great range of
eBooks and eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eFilms and eMusic.
These are free with your library membership and can be accessed from the comfort of your own home. All you need is a device and an internet connection.

BorrowBox - Reduced Wait Times
Redland Libraries are working to reduce waiting times for popular titles on BorrowBox.
We have reduced the loan period for BorrowBox items from 14 days to 10 days. This will allow more clients to access popular titles faster. Don’t worry, you can still renew your items if you haven’t read them in 10 days. In fact, we have increased the number of times you can renew your item from two times to four.

Recommended eFilms on Kanopy
Film streaming service Kanopy provides library members with free access to more than 30,000 films.
Looking for a movie to watch?
For some inspiration, one of our Librarians has curated a mini at home film festival, with films to help with your social distancing efforts at home.

Children's Programming Online
During the library closure, our Young Peoples team have found an exciting new way to deliver our First Five Forever Children’s programs with you. The same sessions that you know and love, like Story Time and Rhyme Time, are now videos available online.
New videos will be added to Facebook and Instagram and you can access these at any time. These fun sessions include rhymes, stories and singing, perfect for children 0-5 years of age.
Story Box Library
For more stories online try Story Box Library. Children can watch celebrated stories read aloud by wonderful storytellers and then go beyond the stories with activity time ideas.
