RETHINKING CONFERENCE BUDERIM

We have just spent some wonderful days in QLD with David and Gloria Anderson who have recently arrived in Australia.

Grow Ministries is excited to have them here with us to guide, direct, encourage and inspire the sharing the faith in congregations and homes.

I want to encourage all of you who receive this e-news to prayerfully consider how you might be able to attend one of the upcoming Re-thinking Faith Formation days - and register NOW!

We had a participant register for half of Saturday as he was going home after lunch to watch the AFL Grand Final. This was a significant calendar event for him, however, once he had listened to David and Gloria for the morning session, he made plans (including 'shuffling' three children while his wife was at work) to be able to hear the rest of the day. It was THAT good!  Don't miss this opportunity to hear David and Gloria speak while they are here for a short time in Australia.

GUIDING PRINCIPLE #2

FAITH AT HOME
Faith is integrated into family identity and practice.

Parents continue to be the single greatest influence on their children’s faith. Interestingly, grandparents come in closely at second. Parents who participate in these practices regularly will find them helpful in building their own faith and will also be modelling their faith to their children. Children can also be invited to participate in these practices and learn to incorporate them into their own faith formation and growth.

RETHINKING CONFERENCES - SA & VIC

Culture and society has changed so much, raising many new questions, issues and pressures.  This isn’t about a new program or theory, but instead remembering the ways God showed us to incorporate ministry into our everyday lives…..

We invite you to join us in rethinking faith formation, for everyone.

We are excited to announce that we have some special guests joining us. INTERNATIONAL GUEST SPEAKERS Rev. Dr. David and Gloria Anderson.

David is Co-Director at Milestones Ministry and has written numerous books and articles on partnering home and congregation in faith formation.  You may remember David from The Child in our Hands Conference that toured Australia in 2003. We are very excited to have David joining the Grow Team for a period of 3 months.

David has been married to Gloria for over 40 years. Together they have raised two children (Kirsten and Jeremy). They have been blessed with six granddaughters, all of whom live within minutes of each other. Their family life has allowed them to actively engage in the faith practices David has been teaching over the years.

Gloria is the Milestones Ministry Faith Formation Specialist and a retired school teacher with over 30 years of classroom experience. She has taught kindergarten through sixth grade. She has also served as a mentor to other teachers in her school district. Her wisdom and relational skills made her a beloved and trusted teacher to students, teachers, and staff. In the life of the congregation, Gloria has shared her gifts of teaching and music in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She has also been a confirmation and young adult mentor.
