Deadline for Brownfield LandAre you ready to publish your brownfield land register and meet the deadline on 31 December? If not, you'll find it useful to check out our guidance – updated following a workshop earlier in the month – which you can find on our Brownfield Land schema page. You'll also find datasets from authorities who've published their registers successfully, which are useful in understanding how yours should be formatted. It is important that you record your dataset on data.gov.uk with a link to the Brownfield Site Register schema, as pictured here. If you're using our Validator to check over your files, don't hesitate to get in touch if you need a hand as we've helped nudge a few authorities closer to publication. Resident satisfaction: the last five yearsIn October's newsletter we covered the latest round of polling residents on their satisfaction with councils, community safety and specific council-run services, providing data for your area and comparisons to the region. We've recently published a report showing trends since our polling started in 2012. It includes a round-up of the latest results at a national level, as well as any significant movements in satisfaction observed across the whole series. Managing delayed transfers of careThe LGA is continuing to work with councils and the sector to identify the challenges and barriers and work towards positive solutions that maintain a focus on the people that use the services.. Take a look at our FAQs for an overview of this work. You can also find council-level data for delayed transfers of care, published monthly, on LG Inform through this simple overview for your authority, and further reports are available. Digital Exclusion 2017The Digital Skills Heatmap, created in 2015 by Go ON UK in collaboration with the BBC, the London School of Economics, Lloyds Banking Group and LG Inform, is designed to help everyone better understand which areas in the UK are most at risk of digital exclusion. Now managed by Tech Partnership, the heatmap has been updated recently with the latest data. The map uses eight specific indicators that reflect some of the key technological and social issues affecting how citizens can get online and maximise the benefits of learning digital skills. Aimed at local authorities and local groups, the heatmap helps to identify where to focus on reducing digital exclusion through maps and deeper analysis, indicator by indicator. The Digital Skills Heatmap uses the LG Inform API (direct data feed) to display results for all areas. Benchmarking Club 2017–18 Q2 resultsBack in 2014, the LGA began to collect a small basket of indicators which authorities felt were not being covered by existing statistics, either in a timely manner or at all. Since then we have had great success and now over 160 councils participate in the popular LG Inform Benchmarking Club. The Q2 2017–18 results are now live in LG Inform and ready to view (sign-in required). You can also view the newly added report for 2016–17 on street cleansing metrics. We're always interested in hearing about and adding to the club and metrics you'd find useful. Let us know here.
