GROWing Online

What?! An online GROW Group? How does that happen? This fall we have organized a special GROW Group that meets via videoconference using a tool that is similar to Skype. Videoconferencing is a distance communication tool that is similar to face-to-face communication because you can see body language and can really feel close to one another.

This Online GROW Groups targets people who are unable to attend a face-to-face group, especially our online streaming viewers. There may be a wide variety of reasons why online might be better for someone and this GROW Group can even be joined internationally!  We can care for each other and support each other online too. Our service projects include sending print or digital cards to people we are praying for as a group.

So, do you know anyone who might feel more comfortable in an online group? Tell them about PMC's online GROW Group and pray for those who join our PMC family online each Sabbath. Some are connected to a local church, and some aren't. Online groups are a way to bring faith, community and support to our online viewers.

Dr. Janine Lim  is leading this group online for the Fall Semester. Jesus' Comfort in Hard Times will begin on Saturday October 3 from 7 p.m. -        8 p.m. and continue every week thereafter. To sign up, find her group via: https://www.pmchurch.org/grow/growgroups/join

It was announced this week (with later Vatican confirmation) that Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who refused to sign marriage licenses for same sex applicants and was subsequently jailed for six days, met privately with Pope Francis this past Thursday when he was in Washington. According to the Washington Post: “The pair reportedly chatted about bravery, then hugged and exchanged promises of prayer. The pope thanked Davis for her ‘courage,’ according to the press release, and told her to ‘stay strong.’ The news release also said Francis ‘presented Kim and Joe Davis each with a Rosary that he personally blessed’”. . . read more
