Scott Cunningham has had the best seat in the house for some of the biggest moments in sports, capturing the thrill of victory and agony of defeat for posterity. After 40 seasons photographing the Atlanta Hawks and many of the world’s best athletes on the field of play and off, this exhibition puts a spotlight on Scott’s photographic journey in a completely new way. Experience the icons and the events that have left an impression on the world through the lens of Scott Cunningham.

More than 50 stunning photos will be displayed from Cunningham’s career as an NBA photographer covering the home team, as well as the Atlanta’s Braves, Falcons, Dream, Thrashers and Flames franchises, along with other professional and collegiate sports teams, concerts and events.  After 40 seasons photographing the Atlanta Hawks and many of the world’s best athletes on the field of play and off, this exhibit puts a spotlight on Scott’s photographic journey in a completely new way.  Curated by Atlanta Celebrates Photography, the exhibit will run at the Westside Cultural Arts Center from August 3 through August 14.

About Westside Cultural Arts Center:  WCAC’s goal is to challenge the way viewers observe and interact with Atlanta’s art scene by stimulating social awareness through avant-garde exhibits, shows and events. 

Westside Cultural Arts Center (WCAC) was founded by Dr. James L. Chappuis who has long been a proponent of the development of Atlanta’s West Midtown, as well as an avid art collector and leader in the art world. In addition to housing a gallery-in-residence, WCAC aims to create a living gallery that supports a rotating collection of local, regional and international artists that doubles as an event venue. With ample space and a full-service commercial catering kitchen, it is WCAC’s mission to provide assistance to a visually stimulating art world and a blank canvas on which any client can create the perfect special event. The result is an exceptionally inviting, energizing and elegant space.
