Prayer points and news updates

Welcome to LCA Mission International's very first email newsletter! We look forward to connecting with you once every fortnight.

You are invited to join us in God's mission this fortnight by praying for:

  • meetings between the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and its overseas Lutheran partner churches
  • volunteers to join the January Thailand mission team
  • the faithful support of the Lutheran Women of Australia to the mission programs
  • Pastor Bruce Zagel (LCA Director for Reconciliation Ministries) currently conducting workshops in Papua New Guinea

Please click here if you would like more detailed prayer points from the LCA Mission International website or download the September prayer calendar here.

Volunteers invited to join the 2014 Thailand mission team (4-16 Jan)
LCA Mission International and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Epping, are working together on a Mission Trip to Bangkok to the Home of Praise and the Home of Grace.

Home of Praise is a day-centre for children of all ages, situated in the slums. People with building experience are desperately needed to address the problems caused by white ants, which have eaten the walls and are starting on the floor, along with many other odd jobs around the tired building.

Home of Grace is a sanctuary for unwed mothers and their babies in Bangkok. Volunteers with sewing skills could help to make curtains, to brighten up the home.

Gardening and painting skills are also sought for this mission trip. Applications close on 4 October 2013 and application booklets can be downloaded at www.stmarksepping.org.au For further information contact Simon King at project.thailand@lca.org.au.

Read the latest story of Wayne Beven on our website. Wayne is one of four Australians currently working in Papua New Guinea through the partnership of LCA Mission International. Wayne and his crew have had some major construction jobs including new builds, upgrades and extensions.

The latest Border Crossings is ready to download now.

We invite you to visit our website and you are encouraged to share any of this information with others.

We thank God for you and for your partnership in the gospel!

From the team at LCA Mission International.
