Strong & Active Communities We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Stephen Michael Foundation to deliver the Strong and Active Communities program for young people living in the Gascoyne and Murchison regions over the next three years. Lotterywest and Healthway have provided $821,000 in funding to develop pathways through sport, recreation, community and cultural activities to support young people's health and wellbeing. New Open Research RoundOur 2020 Exploratory and Intervention Research Grants are open. We are interested in Expressions of Interest that address the impacts of COVID-19 on the health and wellbeing of the WA community and align with our strategic priority areas. Proposals that do not address the health impacts of COVID-19, or our specific priorities will be accepted, however all applications will be assessed in accordance with criteria outlined in the Guidelines. Find out more. Dwellingup 100 is backThe Act-Belong-Commit Dwellingup 100 Mountain Bike Classic & Mighty Jarrah Trail Run is happening on Saturday 19 September 2020. This is the State's premier mountain bike and trail event. Healthway's partnership support ensures the event has a strong focus on volunteering, and consistent with the Act-Belong-Commit message provides an opportunity for Western Australians to connect and have a sense of belonging. Winnie the Pooh video seriesProudly presented by Act-Belong-Commit and Healthway, Perth City Ballet and Prompt Corner have teamed up to bring the community a fun educational and interactive video series called 'Some Adventures of Winnie The Pooh'. The production was scheduled to take place at the Perth Town Hall next month, but it was postponed due to COVID-19. The series is available to watch through Perth City Ballet YouTube channel. WAM Song of the YearHealthway is the West Australian Music presenting partner for the 2020 Act-Belong-Commit Song of the Year. The Act-Belong-Commit song category nominees this year have beautifully captured the importance of having a strong sense of belonging for positive mental health and wellbeing. WA Indigenous StorybookThe Public Health Advocacy Institute of Western Australia launched a video about the WA Indigenous Storybook project which recognises and celebrates the achievements and stories of Australian Aboriginal people and their communities, across ten publications. The video is funded by Healthway and celebrates the learnings and outcomes of the WA Indigenous Storybook project, and its positive impact on its storytellers. Watch it here.
