Up up and away Australia's Rio 2016 Eventing horses depart Melbourne

Some of Australia's Rio2016 Eventing horses departed Australia. CP Qualified (ridden by Shane Rose), Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison (ridden by Sonja Johnson) and Stuart Tinney's horses Pluto Mio and Carlchen departed a cargo plane in Melbourne for a 30 hour flight which will involve stopovers in Singapore and the UAE. Hanna ready to Boogie as Australia’s oldest competing Olympian

Dressage rider Mary Hanna will become Australia’s oldest competing Olympian and just the third Australian woman to compete at five Games, when she competes at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Cousins Lyndal Oatley and Kristy Oatley along with Olympic debutant Kelly Layne have also earned selection to compete in the Team and Individual Dressage competition. MORE Facebook Like Button Tweet Button


Four named on 2016 Australian Paralympic Equestrian Team

Three Paralympic debutants will join Beijing 2008 Paralympian Sharon Jarvis to make up the 2016 Australian Paralympic Equestrian team set to compete in Rio, the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) announced.

Williams and Paterson-Robinson round out experienced Show Jumping Team

Show jumpers James Paterson-Robinson and Matt Williams have been rewarded for their impressive and consistent form to earn selection on the Rio 2016 Olympic Team.

Winners recognised at Equestrian Australia Sport Achievement Awards

More than 220 leading members of the equestrian and sporting communities gathered in the Olympic Room of the MCG to celebrate the sport’s highest achievers of 2015 as part of the Equestrian Australia Sport Achievement Awards.

Equestrian greats and enthusiasts joined award finalists, their families and friends as well a host of industry members at the Rio themed occasion which was hosted by Olympic swimmer Nicole Livingstone.

Rio bound Tops-Alexander second in Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Cannes

An in-form Edwina Tops-Alexander has finished second in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Cannes.

In finishing runner-up the two-time Olympian and Rio bound Jumping rider overcame a competitive field which included eight of the top 10 riders in the world.

Double victory for Wood at Bromont

Aussie Ryan Wood is the ARIAT RIDER OF THE MONTH, for his double victory winning the CCI3* and CIC3* at Bromont (Canada).

2016 EA Club Development Grant recipients announced

13 clubs from around Australia will receive a funding boost as part of Equestrian Australia (EA)’s recent round of Club Development Grants. It is the third time that EA has offered $30,000 in funding assistance to affiliated clubs and this recent round attracted 99 applications.

Some of the projects to be supported include funding for trailers, arena rakes, timing gear as well as jumping equipment, a new club room, carriage driving gear and different safety equipment. View the full list of recipients HERE Facebook Like Button Tweet
