Composting Workshops

Come rain or shine this winter, we are holding Thursday morning composting workshops with Bonnie Wykman. One participant from last week's class said, '[the workshop] is a must for all those who love gardening. Bonnie, who did this workshop was very detailed and has a great passion for recycling waste to make compost.'

Each week we will be making a compost pile from start to finish and you’ll be shown how to monitor and manage your pile to it’s completion.

Join the class every Thursday from 10.00 - 11.30 am. Sign in with Administration in the Farm Office on the day.

Volunteering at Perth City Farm

As you are all aware we are always looking for volunteers. They are the heart and soul of Perth City Farm. Without them we would not be the place that we are today. We love our volunteers and I think they love us too, or they are getting something out of this otherwise they would not keep coming back. Maybe they learn a new skill, meet new people and become part of a great community, feel good in the act of giving, work on projects and feel a sense of achievement and more motivated or just to have a new experience. All in all everyone benefits.

The good news is our new Media intern from Curtin, Courtney, has updated our website for volunteers to become involved simply.

It shows all of the areas where regular volunteers are needed, and we will also update it when looking for specific project volunteers. There is a sign up form and everything!
