MEMBER PROTECTION INFORMATION OFFICER COURSE

This course is for people who wish to be a Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) in their sport and recreation organisations and clubs. EWA will pay for any members wishing to attend.

COACH FORUM SUMMARY REPORT

Over the past 10 weeks, Alison Gestier, Equestrian Australia (EA) Pathways Manager for Coaches, facilitated meetings in 6 states with over 300 coaches in attendance. EA have now released a report summarising the key discussion points and the solutions that were either suggested or are being put into place as a result of the pathway review. MORE

LA NOIR SADDLEWORLD HIGH PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

More than 45 La Noir Saddleworld High Performance Athletes and coaches spent Saturday 22 July participating in lectures and demonstrations from sports nutrition expert David Bryant, sports psychologist Adrian Schonfield and Strength and Fitness Coach Kirsty Holmes. EWA would like to thank the presenters and athletes for their participation.

DRESSAGE SQUADS MID-YEAR REVIEW

The criteria for the La Noir Saddleworld EWA Dressage Squads have been adjusted for the second half of the year. Selectors have made some adjustments to reflect the aim of each squad, accommodate the increasing quality of horses and riders in Western Australia and increase clarity of selection criteria. MORE

JUMPING SQUADS FUNDING NOW OPEN

Applications are now open for Round 1 of Jumping WA Funding Support for events that occurred March to July 2017 (to include Yalambi Classic/Bunbury SJ Classic/Busselton Winter Classic/GCEC). Entry fee rebates of up to $400 per horse are available. Applications close 22 August. MORE

VALLEY EQUINE VETERINARY CENTRE

The WA Eventing Committee would like to thank Warwick Vale and the team at Valley Equine Veterinary Centre for their continued support of our state's eventing community.

Valley Equine Veterinary Centre provides $2500 each year to Eventing WA, plus veterinary attendance at one WA FEI CIC/CCI event in an FEI Veterinary Delegate Capacity, and two annual veterinary lectures to WA Eventing Squad Members. They also sponsor the FEI Young Eventing Rider of the Year Award which aims to foster the young eventing rider into FEI competitions.

NATIONAL EVENTING RULE CHANGES

There have been two changes made to the National Eventing Rules, notably neck straps are now permitted at EvA95 and below. These rules will come into effect immediately as they relate to safety within the sport. MORE

Equestrian Australia High Performance is looking to identify a small group of talented and committed Eventing coaches and support them with a professional development program to equip them with the skills and knowledge to excel in the high performance coaching environment. MORE

COACHES REQUIRED FOR WA NATIONAL INTERSCHOOL TEAM

EWA is calling for Expressions of Interest from accredited EA NCAS Coaches (preferably Level 2 but not limited to) for Dressage and Jumping to accompany 34 WA State Team members and their families to the 2017 Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships in Queensland in September. MORE

SRSJC 2017 ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 26 & 27 AUGUST

Swan River Showjumping Club and Patersons Securities presents the 2017 Swan River Showjumping Championships on 26 & 27 August.

To be held at the State Equestrian Centre to enable riders to compete outdoors to prepare for upcoming end-of-season competitions AND to take part in SRSJC's Championships Puissance as part of EWA's inaugural Equestrian Showcase on the evening of 26 August.

• Entries open next week for 1.05-1.40m Open & Championship classes
• Junior Jumper, Young Rider, new Mini Prix and The Patersons Plate
