The 2018 Aeon Symposium will be held May 20-22, 2018 at The Claremont Colleges in California. The planning committee is working to pull together an excellent program for experienced users as well as new users. A block of hotel rooms has been reserved for attendees at the Doubletree by Hilton Claremont. Be sure to book no later than April 28th to reserve your room.

The symposium will be held on Sunday, 5/20 through Tuesday, 5/22. The planning committee is pleased to invite you to submit a proposal. Submissions will be accepted until February 23rd, 2018. Presenters will be notified by March 9th regarding the status of their proposals.

For those of you planning travel the tentative agenda is:

• Sunday’s events are primarily registration/check-in and a reception which will be held at the Doubletree Hotel at 6 pm
• Monday’s event consists of plenary sessions with presentations
• Monday evening will feature a group dinner with plenty of time for networking
• Tuesday’s events are mostly hands-on workshops expected to end by 5 pm
• Tuesday evening will feature a “restaurant night” for those folks planning to travel home on Wednesday

As a reminder, the symposium is FREE to attend, and includes an opening reception, breakfast and lunch each day, and a dinner on Monday.

Harvard University Libraries have begun a project to add an additional 11 reading rooms to their Aeon instance. The Botany Libraries, Ernst Mayr Library, and Arnold Arboretum will be live on March 1st. Please join Atlas in welcoming these libraries to the Aeon community.

An Aeon addon has just been made freely available for integrating the ArchivesSpace staff interface into the Aeon Client request form so that staff can search the records of their ArchivesSpace instance and import details into Aeon requests.

The ArchivesSpace public UI plugin for Aeon requesting is currently in testing. Please follow the community topic to learn more about how this new plugin can work for you.

It’s new. It’s weekly. It’s live online. It’s Atlas Live—every Wednesday 2-4pm EST. Jennifer Cella Johns, Atlas Systems’ Support Analyst II, will be standing by in the Community forums to answer your questions, open tickets if needed, or arrange for more in-depth research into a problem or project. Submit a question or request for consultation and Jennifer will respond as quickly as possible during these Wednesday open office hours. Jennifer will be glad to work with you on Aeon, Ares, and ILLiad, as well as assist Atlas-hosted ArchivesSpace customers. Join Jennifer with a question, or join just to listen in.
