Children and young people are engaged in meaningful intergenerational church experiences in which they are valued.
Intergenerational ministry takes place when people from at least two generations intentionally gather for the same activity in the name of Christ, interacting with one another in ways which reflect mutual respect and appreciation.

GROW Leadership - Cultivate
Following the overwhelmingly positive response to the National Youth Forum that was held in April last year, Grow Ministries was invited to develop a new training initiative. This initiative will provide continuing and sustainable leadership development for young adults of the Lutheran Church of Australia that includes a regular National Youth Forum and Christian formational leadership training called Cultivate Leadership Program.
Beginning in January 2017, the Cultivate Leadership Program will require a part-time commitment for 12 months. We are looking for 12 young adults from the LCA to participate as well as six young adults from our International Mission partners.
THE PLAN
-
To grow young people in the Gospel of Jesus
-
To grow servant leaders through hands-on experiences
-
To grow young people who can connect theology to everyday life
-
To grow young people who have a strong sense of belonging in the Lutheran Church of Australia
-
To grow a sense of Christian calling in a post-Christian culture
-
To grow in intergenerational relationships
-
To connect young people deeply with their local church
THE PURPOSE
To facilitate a faith journey that includes:
-
Training intensives
-
Stretch and Grow experiences – partnering with LCA International Mission
-
Regular mentoring
-
Theological reflection
-
Congregational participation and leadership opportunities

FAITH TRAIL SPECIAL! Reduced price!
Faith Trail Ministry is a way to celebrate with families in your congregation the promises made in baptism, and it equips families with resources for sharing their faith stories.
Each Faith Trail marker resource is based around the following outline:
-
Naming and Marking - the spiritual markers in the lives of children in your congregation helps to create rituals and traditions that shape them and give them a sense of belonging to the family of God.
-
Equipping provides an opportunity for learning related to the trail marker, builds community, invites conversation and brings generations together. It equips families with take-home resources to use in their everyday lives.
-
Blessing the child and marking the occasion in worship communicates that faith and life are woven together. God is present in all of daily life, making the ordinary sacred and the sacred ordinary.
-
Gifting is a tangible way of providing a symbol and a reminder of the occasion being marked. Gifting serves as a resource for the ongoing nurture of faith in daily life.
We have a very special sale for you!

PENTECOST IDEAS FOR YOU
This Sunday is Pentecost!
Pentecost is a day on which we commemorate the coming of the Holy Spirit on the early followers of Jesus. Before the events of the first Pentecost, which came a few weeks after Jesus’ death and resurrection, there were followers of Jesus, but no movement that could be meaningfully called “the church.” Thus, from an historical point of view, Pentecost is the day on which the church was started. This is also true from a spiritual perspective, since the Spirit brings the church into existence and enlivens it.
