Empire Life launches Website to help Canadians with Life & Money Matters

Empire Life is launching Life & Money Matters, a new website to educate Canadians on financial planning and investments. The site answers the most common questions Canadians have at different life stages about life and money, and provides articles, videos, tools and calculators to help Canadians better understand their personal situation and how to navigate through it.

For consumers seeking advice or help with their investments or financial plan, the website offers a “Find-an-Advisor” feature to help them connect with a licensed life insurance advisor in their area. Learn more.

GIF Application Error

There was an error on the Fund Code chart of the online GIF applications (INV-911, INV-912 and INV-913) posted between June 5th and June 8th. If you downloaded a GIF application during that time period, please discard it and download an updated application.

Empire Life June 30, 2017 Investment Statements

We will begin mailing Empire Life June 30, 2017 Investment Statements to customers starting July 27, 2017. PDF copies of these statements will be available on the Business Centre in advance of the customer mailings.

For additional information about when your customer’s statements will be mailed and when you can access their statements on the Business Centre please see information circular 2017-19.

Point of Sale Material for Empire Life Guaranteed Investment Funds (Empire Life GIF)

In June we announced that the Empire Life GIF application had been revised to provide the three Empire Life GIF product options (Empire Life GIF 75/75, 75/100 and 100/100).  To go with that change, we would like to introduce a new Empire Life Guaranteed Investment Funds Information Folder and Contract Provisions (INV-943). The Empire Life GIF Information Folder and Contract Provisions has been revised to include the three Empire Life GIF products. As a result, The Empire Life GIF 100/100 Information Folder and Contract Provisions (INV-942) has been cancelled. Please destroy any existing stock you may have and reorder a new supply of the revised INV-943.

Enhanced Financial Account Information Reporting to CRA on Insurance and Annuity Contracts

Recently the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) released two information documents to help clients and advisors understand Enhanced Financial Account Information Reporting.
