We're excited about delivering our message in a new way, collaborating with different groups to host events online and finding new platforms for our community to interact on. Stay tuned to Ecoversity facebook for more info about:
Volunteering updateThe Forktree ProjectOver the past few months we've teamed up with with students from the Biology Society of SA to put in 240+ volunteer hours on a conservation initiative with environmental scientist, Tim Jarvis AM. When Tim isn't recreating the epic adventures of polar explorers Mawson and Shackleton, he's leading The Forktree Project, which aims to restore and reforest an area of degraded farmland near Carrickalinga. We've already learned tons from Tim about everything from environmental policy, plant selection and gabion wall construction, to glacial melt, how to stay nourished when you're hiking through the Antarctic (litres of olive oil!) and building personal resilience. Once social restrictions are relaxed, future projects on the property will include building and installing bee hotels and animal nesting boxes, tree planting and creation of a giant seed nursery. Note: photo taken in the days before social distancing. Stay connectedGet in touch and keep up to dateThe launch of our re-vamped website isn't far away and should be the first point-of-call for all things Ecoversity. Until then...
We'd love to hear about what you're up to; the kind of things you want to hear from us; and the ways that you plan to stay engaged in sustainable action at home and in your community. Copyright © 2018 The University of Adelaide. |
