New Student Welcome Lunch

We need 100 families to share in the blessed opportunity to extend a warm Pioneer Memorial Church welcome to our new University Students by providing them a meal and meeting them after second service on August 22. To feed/share with 10 to 12 people, each family is asked to bring a complete meal of:

  1. Lasagna or a pasta dish (vegetarian or vegan)
  2. Salad
  3. Rolls or garlic bread

Two or three friends could also band together and help provide this complete meal.  Drink and dessert will be provided. You will be sharing the meal with your family and several college students. To confirm your participation in this special hospitality ministry on August 22, please email davis@pmchurch.org or call 471-3150.

UNTITLED
For the TITLED one has something to say:
A LETTER is to go forth to the church. Is she listening? For the time of her hearing is about to close up, or to endure forever. For the people are waiting, pondering, wandering.
Does she not see?
They cannot see.
Does she not hear?
They cannot hear.
For she has not properly shown. For she has not properly heard.
Yea, she has shrunk back. She has been weak,
Does she not know she was made to be strong?
The TITLED one aches to say it: "this time/now this."
Like a breath that finds rest, like a wedding feast being Ignited with oil run-ning over at the brisk of Her step.
Yes, She.
Does She not know Who's side She is made from? A pang brought Forth wa-ter and blood, as His right hand did a rib.
So the original man could say,
So the New Man can say:
"This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh:
She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
Now many have gone before Her,
And when is Her acceptable time?
"'Today,' after so long a time; as it is said,
'Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.'
So we see they could not enter in because of unbelief.'"
The land before Her, even the aisle, even the throne—
Might She,
Above all of the many things She has bought, take
Up the refined gold that He first bought for Her. Adorning Herself with the
white dress She has only
Dreamt of wearing since first losing Her innocence long ago,
That He,
With His two scarred hands, might
Lift
Her veil.
Then She will cry the travail of every created thing since the foundation:
"For I have seen through a glass darkly,
But now, I see face to face."
For the TITLED one has something to say:
A LETTER is to go forth to the Church.
Is She listening?
