All change at the top

The ICA's leadership results are in. Jean-Marc Derossis takes on the role of President. He will be supported by Jürg Reinhart as First Vice President and Salman Ispahani as Second Vice President. Six new directors have also been appointed. Trading with defaulters was a key focus of Jean-Marc's inaugural speech, where he also paid special tribute to his predecessor, Jordan Lea.

Cotton's hottest topics on the agenda

From climate change to the global economy, cotton's hottest topics were on the agenda at our recent San Francisco trade event. Hosted by outgoing President, Jordan Lea, 600 delegates came together to take part in the two day event, which saw 11 top industry speakers take to the stage.

Remembering the fallen

Thank you to the hundreds of people that joined us at 11am on 11 November at the site of the ICA's 'Unknown Soldier' statue in Liverpool's historic Exchange Flags to take part in our annual remembrance service to pay homage to the servicemen and women who lost their lives in battle.

Beijing plays host to China cotton training

Congratulations to the 40 delegates who completed this year’s China Cotton Trade Training in Beijing – the nation’s capital and a major hub for cotton. Delegate numbers were down this year (due to a decline in China cotton imports), but feedback was good and plans are underway for 2016.

Controlling risk and safeguarding the industry

Learning how to control risk was the topic of learning at our recent Managing Risk course. Nineteen delegates from across the global cotton industry successfully completed the training, which took place in San Francisco and was delivered by industry expert Chris Kramedjian of INTL FCStone.
