Festival season smashes targets

This year's hugely successful, COVID-safe festival season smashed all targets, with many sold out shows and sessions across Adelaide Festival, Fringe and WOMADelaide. Adelaide hotels experienced the highest occupancy of any capital city on the mainland, and our restaurants, bars, cafes and streets were buzzing. Adelaide has set a global standard in festivals and the season is a boost to the city's recovery.

Events & Festivals Sponsorship Program

Applications are now open for the City of Adelaide and Adelaide Economic Development Agency's Events and Festivals Sponsorship program. The purpose of the program is to provide financial support to eligible groups and organisations to assist in the staging of events and festivals. Applications close 7 May.

City of Adelaide's Draft 2021-22 Business Plan and Budget

Stage 1: Draft Rating Policy

The City of Adelaide is now engaging on proposed changes to their Rating Policy, which forms Stage 1 of the 2021-2022 Draft Business Plan and Budget consultation.

The proposed changes are:

  • Introducing a discount for upfront payment of rates;
  • Increasing the threshold for the Special Discretionary Rebate;
  • Removing the pensioner and self-funded retiree concession; and
  • Changing the basis of rating vacant land.

40 Under 40 nominations closing Friday

The Adelaide Economic Development Agency is a proud supporter of the 40 Under 40 Awards. The Awards celebrate SA's most influential young entrepreneurs and business leaders. Nominations close Friday 2 April.

JobMaker Hiring Credit

Eligible employers can now register and claim the JobMaker Hiring Credit for each eligible additional employee hired between 7 October 2020 and 6 October 2021.

The first claim period is until 30 April. Claims must be made by the end of the claim period to receive JobMaker Hiring Credit.

The SA Innovation Challenge

Up to $1 million is on offer for businesses able to partner with research organisations and innovators to develop hi-tech solutions within the theme of Augmenting Ability. 

The SA Innovation Challenge will focus on health and medical industries and hi-tech, creating early market advantage and growth opportunities for South Australian businesses.

2021 South Australian Tourism Awards

Nominations are now open to all SA tourism businesses for the 2021 SA Tourism Awards. With over 25 categories to choose from, the Awards celebrate business excellence and reward exceptional customer service.

Nominations close on Monday 21 June. Final submissions are due on Wednesday 18 August.
