Important COVID Updates
Housekeeping
We have increased the frequency of cleaning throughout the College, but we recommend using only your own toilet facilities to help with our mitigation efforts against the virus.
Gym
The gym has reopened with COVID-secure guidelines.
Combination and Council Room
A reminder that all students must continue to sit at least 2 metres apart in these rooms, even if you are part of a household.
- Please do not move the chairs closer together.
- If your household wishes to arrange a non-socially distanced meal at College, please contact the Conference Coordinator.

Wolfson Research Event
The WRE is a unique event that showcases the wide variety of research areas of the student members of Wolfson College. This year's event take place from 28 to 30 April 2021. We encourage everyone to submit abstracts for both poster and oral presentations, which will be done online this year.
Please use this Google form to submit your abstracts before Monday 4 January 2021.
Funding Opportunities
Wolfson College Sports Awards
Are you training with a Blues team, or picked to play for a Blues team ? Wolfson College students may apply for Sports Awards once in each academic year.
If you meet the criteria for the award, please complete the application form by 17.00 on 25 January 2021.
🧧Christmas is Coming🎁
Christmas Lunches
Sam and his team will be serving Christmas lunches tomorrow, Thursday 3 December, and again from Monday 14 to Friday 18 December. Bon appetit!
Beer and wine are also being served in the Cafeteria for you to enjoy with a meal (a minimum of a main dish and a side).🍷Cheers!

Facilities & Maintenance Notices
Main Entrance
On Thursday 3 December the Maintenance Department have commissioned the installation of new door sensors to be fitted to the main building door (porters lodge) by a company called IGM. Once installed the door will be automated to work on movement activation, making accessibility even easier to all entering or leaving the building. Whilst the work takes place please be careful around this area. IGM will follow the College's current risk assessment and the government guidelines on face masks and distancing.
Decoration Works
A facelift for Bredon House
Decoration works to Bredon House are taking place in Bredon House. Dust sheets will be on the floors so please take care when accessing the staircase and communal areas.
Meter Upgrade to Western Field
Cambridge Water authority will be renewing the water meter to the Western Field on Wednesday 10 December between 10.00 – 14.00. The cold water will be switched off for staircases R, S, T, V & W. Please do not leave any taps on/open during this time. There will be limited hot water, but the heating will be unaffected.
Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause whilst the meter change is carried out.

Legionella Water Works
Weekly Works:
The maintenance department undertakes essential works, one of which is to flush the water systems in all unused rooms weekly on Mondays. We are following all current Government guidelines on face masks and social distancing. For those in residence this is a polite notice to let you know why we are accessing rooms. Thank you for your co-operation.
Monthly Works:
Wolfson College has employed Jordan Environmental to undertake Legionella water testing and sampling to all buildings. Access to rooms (not those where students are quarantined or self-isolating ) will be needed and you will be emailed when this testing takes place. Jordan Environmental will follow the College risk assessment and the current Government guidelines on social distancing whilst this work takes place.
