Updates and Resources from UAFP

Last week we sent out updates for the coming months from UAFP. In case you missed it, the information is available here.

We have also developed a list of resources for family physicians and their patients. We know many of you have patients who are struggling with a myriad of issues right now and we have compiled a list of resources you can share with them that you can find here.

If there are additional resources you would like to see included on this list - whether for physicians or patients - please let us know.

How Can UAFP Support You?

UAFP staff will work to support you in any way possible during this unprecedented event. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions or ideas. This is uncharted territory for all of us, and we want to be as supportive as possible.

One Utah Childcare Program

Yesterday, the State of Utah launched the One Utah Childcare Program. It offers free childcare to healthcare workers, first responders, and law enforcement personnel.

Director of the Utah Office of Child Care, Tracy Gruber, announced the One Utah Childcare program at a news conference in Salt Lake City on Monday.

Gruber said, “These sites will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to cover the hours in which schools are no longer [open]. School-aged sites will provide time for distance learning activities so kids can stay engaged with their school work,” Gruber said.

For parents who work nights and weekends, The One Utah Childcare system is maintaining a list of caregivers who have been background checked and willing to work in people’s homes.

The free childcare is expected to be offered at least for the next few weeks.

Parents can find more information at the state of Utah’s jobs website by searching for “One Utah Childcare.”
