Click here IMPORTANT: Staffing at Calvary Retirement Communities - ACT Date: 17 August 2021 To: All Staff - Calvary Retirement Communities ACT Re: Update on Single Site staffing arrangements From: Barb Reid, Regional CEO ACT & David Izzard, Head of People & Culture Given the current number of COVID-19 cases in NSW and following the widened COVID-19 NSW hotspot declaration by the Australian Government Chief Medical Officer, Professor Paul Kelly, workers at residential aged care facilities in impacted areas are asked to limit their work to a single facility to reduce the risk of transmission and protect workers and residents. Whilst at this time there has been no announcement of a single site workforce by ACT Health, Calvary wants to be proactive in its approach to limiting employee exposure. Employees of Calvary Haydon Retirement Community are required to speak with their manager, download and complete a COVID-19 Employee Information Request Form. We will work with you to find the best solution for you, while adhering to Government requirements as they continue to evolve. We will continue to provide the safest possible care to our residents at this time of heightened risk. Your Manager will provide you the opportunity to elect Calvary as your primary employer, and will request you complete a COVID-19 Employee Information Request form to declare any additional employment outside of Calvary. If you elect Calvary as your primary employer, Calvary will make every effort to provide you with additional shifts equivalent to the hours you would have worked with a secondary employer. If you elect an alternate Residential Aged Care Facility as your primary employer, Calvary will not be in a position to roster you until the Government Directive is lifted. Reinforcing - stay at home if unwell and get vaccinated COVID-19 presents as a mild illness for approximately 80% of cases, with fever and cough being the most commonly reported symptoms. If you are unwell and are showing signs or symptoms of COVID-19, respiratory illness, gastroenteritis, as below, you should not present to work:
Other symptoms include headache, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, chills and vomiting. Atypical symptoms of COVID-19 may also occur including chest pain, diarrhoea and conjunctivitis. Calvary strongly encourages all staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19. We understand the disruption and anxiety that the pandemic can cause our employees.
