Beautiful Resistance Tour 2016

13th August – 5th Sepember, 2016

14 young people from Alrowwad Centre for Culture & Arts in Bethlehem, Palestine will visit the UK this summer to experience life beyond the constraints of their daily lives inside a refugee camp.

The tour starts in London before moving on to the Festival Fringe, Fringe Central Programme, Just Festival and the Festival of Politics in Edinburgh and Greenbelt Arts Festival. They return to London, performing at St Paul's Cathedral before concluding with special events in Bristol, Leeds & Derby.

Alrowwad uses dance, music and film to help young Palestinian refugees to break the cycle of violence and oppression that they experience daily. They call it, 'Beautiful Resistance'.

The UK tour will showcase Alrowwad’s take on Palestinian Dabka Dance and feature a wide-range of special guests including Martyn Joseph, Reem Kelani, Garth Hewitt, Harry Baker, Grace Petrie, Katey Brooks, Saffron Records and others.

"As Palestinian refugees, we don’t have the luxury
of despair. We choose Beautiful Resistance."

Abdelfattah A Abusrour,
