Cost of defaults on WTO agenda
At its global review of ‘aid for trade’, the World Trade Organisation invited the ICA to participate. Kai Hughes, ICA Managing Director, addressed the conference, highlighting the unquantifiable cost of defaults to governments, with a plea to ensure legal systems and policies are fair and effective.

Spotlight on #icaSF2015
With the programme for our San Francisco 2015 trade event almost complete, we can confirm that it will include an interactive panel session with leading experts Patrick Laine (BCI), Michael Kobori (Levi Strauss) Pascal Brun (H&M), Jason Kibbey (Sustainable Apparel Coalition) and Antonio Esteve (ECOM) asking the question 'Should sustainability be on ICA’s agenda?'

SMART website wins industry award
Great news - our 'SMART' website has won the Trade Association Forum’s Website of the Year award. Up against tough competition the award is a great achievement and we are very proud. Oh and if you want to know why the website is SMART, it stands for: Safe, Mobile, Automated, Resourceful, Trade.

New, state of the art lab now open
ICA Bremen’s new cotton testing laboratory has been officially opened by the German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Dr. Gerd Müller. The upgraded lab is now home to a range of state of the art facilities to meet the growing demands of the global cotton and textile industry.

Meeting the Asian markets
As part of an Asian 'mega tour', our leadership team recently met with key cotton stakeholders in China, Japan and Taiwan. "The importance of opportunities like this cannot be overestimated...This trip was unique...giving us the chance to engage at a variety of levels with current partners, future partners, members of the ICA and the world cotton community," said ICA President, Jordan Lea.

Book now for China training
Registration is now open for the next China cotton trade training, which takes place on 21-24 Sep 2015 at the Shenzhen Silver Lake Resort Hotel in Shenzhen. Jointly organised by the ICA and Beijing Cotton Outlook Consulting, the training is delivered in Chinese and will focus on areas currently impacting on China's global cotton trade. Demand will be high - early booking is recommended.
