Dutch Design spread in Indesign Magazine

17 November 2016

After hosting our very own Dutch Design Collective during Indesign Melbourne in August, where thirteen Dutch design brands took part in a joint exhibition, the Dutch brands are now featured in the prestigious Indesign Magazine.

Our spread, featuring Carpet Sign (Envoy), PROOFF (Living Edge), HK Living Australia, Artifort (Ke-ZU), Moooi (Spaces), TOOtheZOO, van Esch, Jacco Maris, LINTELOO, graypants, inc. (ECC), Febrik and Cascando (Stylecraft), displays a collection of famous Dutch design initiatives.

Australian Logistics sector visits the Netherlands

From 14 to 18 November, the Consulate General in Sydney organised a visit to the Netherlands with 12 delegates from the Australian logistics sector.

The visit was a follow up from last year’s ‘Ports of the Future’ mission and organised together with the Australian Logistics Council. The delegates were shown around the Port of Rotterdam, the Dutch intermodal hub of Venlo, ProRail’s head office in Utrecht and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. They also attended the Intermodal Europe conference in Rotterdam.

The Australian delegates are interested in how the Netherlands has organised its logistics. As the ‘Gateway to Europe’, the Netherlands – with Rotterdam being the largest European port – has developed extended infrastructure to support its logistics streams, both for freight with the Netherlands as a final destination as well as freight that is transported through to other parts of Europe via intermodal hubs such as Venlo.

Australia is currently developing various intermodal hubs and new airports and is modernising several ports. The visit underlines the strong ties between Australia and the Netherlands and created valuable relations for future bilateral cooperation.
