Newsletter: September 2015

Welcome to the September edition of our newsletter.  In many parts of the world September is: back to school season for children; back to work after summer holidays and for some it marks an unofficial (or official)  new year.   For many families and people with intellectual disabilities in our global network this can be a challenging time as we continue to struggle to achieve inclusive education; inclusion in the labour market and inclusion in our communities.  In this edition you can read about our efforts to promote good examples of inclusive education; inclusion in the labour market and inclusion through self-advocacy.

In the second half of 2015, we will be busy developing a global strategy to promote self-advocacy and developing programmes for our members to help them build inclusive education; supported decision making models and community living strategies.  Building towards our General Assembly and International Conference in Orlando, Florida in October of 2016,  we are developing new ways for our members to work together on the issues that matter to them in their communities.  Watch our website for upcoming events and conferences.
