Plain and SimpleThe COVID-19 factoids continue to spill into our consciousness and news feeds. The Wall Street Journal ran a startling piece on how large households with extended families under the same roof have faced the coronavirus contagion in ways other households have not. "The Journal analyzed all 1,487 U.S. counties with at least 50 Covid-19 cases, as of June 7. The 10% with the highest rates of [household] crowding accounted for 28% of the coronavirus cases among those 1,487 counties, according to census and Johns
Hopkins University data" (WSJ June 8, 2020, A-10).
Virtual Celebration of the CrossNext Sabbath (June 27) in both live streams (9:00 & 11:45 AM) from our empty sanctuary, you will have the opportunity to celebrate the Lord's Supper at home. Individually sealed kits of communion wafers and wine arrive in a few days, so no need to worry about contamination. (If you forgot to order your kit, we ordered extras - so please call Claudia Sowler at 269-471-3134 to place your order.) Read More

Going Home July 11Our sanctuary reentry task force spent Tuesday evening finalizing details for our first Sabbath of in-person worship in our renovated sanctuary July 11. While our children's and adult Sabbath Schools will remain virtual until the new school year, both worship services (9:00 & 11:45 AM) will be offered in the sanctuary beginning July 11. "I was glad when they said to me, Let us go to the House of the Lord" (Psalm 122:1).
Sabbath School QuarterliesDo you need a Sabbath School Quarterly? You can always download a digital copy, but if you'd like to have your own physical copy, starting Monday, June 22, there will be a plastic bin just outside the main entrance of the church with quarterlies. You'll be able to pick them up between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM. For more information,
please contact the church office at 269-471-6565.
Family, Faith, & Fun!Life Lessons From a Go-Kart: When I was about eight years old, my family "inherited" a go-kart from my uncle. He was a few years older than my older brothers and had outgrown this child's ride. It had been handmade by my uncle out of wood with a long, skinny front end and a wooden seat. It was painted dark blue and had four wheels that had been taken off of an old
lawnmower. This particular go-kart moved thanks to muscle and ingenuity, not because of a motor and steering wheel. Inside, there was a rope that attached to the front wheels for steering – pull on the left side of the rope and turn left, pull on the right side of the rope and turn right – and someone had to push it from behind. There will be speakers in the morning, seminars throughout the day, and a series of speakers during the evening. It will be hosted out of the Village Church and the theme is "Forward to the Finish." Beginning with the life of Abraham & journeying chronologically through the Scriptures, this theme will renew our courage & devotion by studying the
lives of God's great leaders.
