UPDATE FROM GOVERNOR SPENCER COX 1/8/21 Read update from Fox 13 on Gov. Cox' press conference held today here. VACCINE DISTRIBUTION TIMELINE FOR UTAH UDOH has published an updated timeline on their site. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: - Sign up for the UDOH COVID vaccine updates - Sign up to receive
COVID-19 vaccine every 1-2 weeks from UDOH using this online form.
- Submit your interest with UDOH to enroll as a COVID-19 vaccine provider -Read the requirements including a facility
checklist and then complete the provider interest survey as soon as possible. If approved for enrollment as a COVID-19 vaccine provider, your office may serve as an immunization provider for your patient population in later phases of vaccine distribution. If you have additional questions you can email covidvaxinquiry@utah.gov.
- Continue to check with the local health department that serves your area for updates - We will
continue to check for current information and post it here and indicate how recently the information has been updated. Below are links and/or instructions to each of the 13 health departments that serve the state:
LOCAL AREA HEALTH DEPARTMENT UPDATES - Bear River (Box Elder, Cache, Rich counties) Call 435-792-6526 and let them know you are a healthcare provider who needs a vaccine. Updated as of 12/31/20
- Central Utah (Juab, Millard, Piute, Sevier, Wayne, Sanpete counties) - Call 435-896-5451, select "immunizations" as the option, and ask for Alicia Beckstead to get information about upcoming clinics. Updated as of 12/31/20
- Davis County - Davis County has a detailed update of the timeline and created a robust scheduling system on their
website at https://www.daviscountyutah.gov/health/covid-19/vaccine Updated as of 1/8/21
- Salt Lake County Updated distribution info on their website Updated as of 1/8/21
- San Juan County - their website appears to be down. Please call them directly at (435) 359-0038.
- Southeast Utah (Carbon, Emery, Grand counties) has created a form for you to submit your information for updates. Updated as of 1/8/21
- Southwest Utah (Garfield, Iron, Kane, Washington, Beaver counties) has created a detailed schedule of vaccination priority group and how to register. Updated as of 1/8/21
- Summit County Sign up now to receive email updates about vaccine distribution from the County. Updates as of 1/8/21
- Tooele County for now Tooele County is only reposting information from the state. Appears the only way to get specific county info is to call them directly at 435-277-2300. Updated as of 1/8/21
- TriCounty (Daggett, Duchesne, Uintah counties) no specific information on their website about how they are administering vaccine. Contact them directly by phone for now. Numbers for each county found in the link to their site. Updated as of 1/8/21
- Utah County Schedule an appointment to be vaccinated if you in one of the priority groups eligible to receive a vaccine now or for those 70+ when they become available. Updated as of 1/8/21
- Wasatch County very little information on their website. Call them directly for info at 435-657-3307
- Weber-Morgan Call 801-399-7777 and let them know that you are a healthcare provider who needs a COVID-19 vaccine. They will email you a link that you will fill out to get an appointment. They are also starting to register people 70+ for email updates online here. Updated as of 1/8/21

The Congress of Delegates (COD) is the Academy's policy-making body. Its membership consists of two delegates and two alternates from each constituent chapter and from the member constituencies including new physicians, residents, students, and other constituency groups represented at the National Conference of Constituency Leaders.
This year COD is scheduled to take place September 27-29, 2021 and be a hybrid in-person/virtual event. In-person portion to be held in Anaheim, CA. If you are interested in running to be a Delegate, please submit your information here. Elections will be held in February 2021. More details to come.
What Is Implicit Bias, And Why Is It Important For Family Physicians To Understand It?By Danielle D. Jones, AAFP Director of Diversity and Health Equity
Implicit biases are the unconscious associations individuals form in response to social conditioning and audiovisual cues. In primitive persons, they were a useful tool in quickly triggering the flight or fight reaction in response to danger, but now the reaction is often triggered in response to race and ethnicity. In the delivery of health care, implicit bias has been shown to directly drive disparities in many diagnostic and treatment recommendations, including pain, coronary artery disease, kidney dialysis, contraception and prenatal care. More recently, it’s been suggested that implicit bias may be influencing clinicians’ decision-making about testing for and treating COVID-19. Family physicians need to understand that they are not immune to the neurological phenomenon of implicit bias despite their best intentions. By
