WELCOME

Welcome you to the fourth edition of our Officials' newsletter, IN THE FIELD. Here you can read about news & updates for all our officials and volunteers giving their time around Australia and across the globe!

With many of our Nationals now complete for the year, and only a few major events like the Australian International 3 Day Event, the Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships, the 3 Day Event at Wallaby Hill and the Sydney Summer Classics World Cup still to be held , many Officials are still finding themselves busy officiating at the many regional competitions underway right up until Christmas. And a final few are still attending 2017 overseas appointments!

I have enjoyed attending the Australian Vaulting Championships in Sydney (see Issue #3 for a report) and the Australian Dressage Championships in Boneo, where I always meet a great mix of volunteers – this time our Judges and Stewards attending FEI Seminars and courses to either refresh existing FEI qualifications, or seeking a Promotion from a National or FEI qualification.

FEI JUMPING JUDGES

Stephen Ellenbruch (GER) will be running courses for interested Jumping Judges requiring a Refresher or Promotion from the 9th through to 16th December. John Valance will be assisting with the L3 Course Design component.

As an Australian Institute of Sport directive, all references to the National Official Accreditation Scheme (NOAS) will be disappearing from EA documents over the next few months, you will need to bear with Whitney and I as we go through the many documents containing this reference!
