Update for Residents9th March 2018The Winter WeatherOur site closed during the recent wintery weather for the safety of our team on site and to maintain the quality of our building work. Freezing temperatures can have an adverse effect on construction, so we took the decision to close the site for the first couple of days of March. Our cameras captured the winter scene below. Cycleway - Old Wokingham Road to Crowthorne RoundaboutWe are currently laying ductwork in the road to allow electrical services to be connected to our development, and in readiness for the construction of the cycleway extension. We have also commenced some prepatory work on the Crowthorne roundabout in readiness to complete our works in this area. The ducting is expected to be completed in late March and we will then commence the works, expected to last until the summer, to form the cycleway. Traffic lights will be in use for the duration of the works, during working hours. Development Access C - north of Hatch RideWe remain on target to commence Access C in late March once the Nine Mile Ride/Old Wokingham Road roundabout is completed. These works are expected to last until mid Summer. Nine Mile Ride / Old Wokingham Road RoundaboutThe highway improvements phase of the roundabout works is approaching completion with a date for resurfacing set for the 19th March. Due to the nature of the resurfacing and for the safety of our team, this work will be carried out at night to allow a road closure. We expect the tarmac work to take 5 nights, between the hours of 8.30pm & 5am. Housebuilding – Phase 1Our housebuilding works have been slowed by wintery conditions during the past couple of weeks. We have 50 homes under construction with foundations and brickwork progressing this week as we look towards the spring for better weather! We expect the first roofs to be complete in early April. On site infrastructureThe site infrastructure is now primarily focused on completing the final sections of drainage and spine road works. The new ponds in the SANG are substantially completed and we continue to shape the onsite watercourses. Nine Mile Ride / Crowthorne HouseThe superstructure build on our show homes is now progressing towards the first roof and we have approximately 50 further plots under construction in our Phase 1 area. We expect the first roofs to be completed in late March. SANGWorks to the SANG continue with the construction of footpaths and feature seating areas now well progressed. Tree planting is also well underway as part of the commitment to plant thousands of new trees across the site. Safety & SecurityOur site is patrolled by security including support from a canine team. We would however like to take this opportunity to remind residents that whilst all reasonable precautions are taken, building sites can seem exciting to children but they can be dangerous places. As ever, we would, therefore, ask parents to ensure their children are made aware of the dangers and are instructed not to enter site at any time, unless doing so under the full supervision of our site staff and wearing full personal protection equipment. The next residents update email will be issued in two weeks. |
