New Schedule Begins Today!

Beginning today, Barnard will begin a new class rotation schedule. "Special" classes for K-8 students, such as PE, Art and Spanish, will be rotated on a 3-day color coded schedule (Red, Blue, Green days). Your children's teachers will be reminding students of their next day's specials class. The full class rotations for this week are posted on our website: www.barnard.cps.k12.il.us .

Thank you for your patience and support as we implement these new changes to help things run more efficiently and to optimize our instructional time.

My Voice, My School Parent Survey

Many of you have taken the "My Voice, My School" survey at home or at report card pick up day. If you haven't we urge you to do so, as it provides us with valuable feedback on how we are doing and where we need to improve. We are aiming for 100% of our parents to take this survey by mid May. It only takes about 10 minutes and is accessible online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ps-english . THANK YOU!

Our New Website is up and Running!

In order to make sure you are able to stay connected to your child's education, we have spruced up our image and have a wonderful new website that's updated frequently. Please check the website for school information, forms, activity updates and important news. You will also want to check out our gallery, where many of our Barnard stars have been highlighted doing what they do best - learning! Please check us out at www.barnard.cps.k12.il.us .

Pre-K Applications Through May 3rd.

Barnard had an incredible turn out for Pre-K application day. The window is still open and interested families can apply for admission into Barnard's program through May 3rd. Please see our website for more information on how to apply. Feel free to refer interested friends and family! http://www.barnard.cps.k12.il.us

Uniform/Cell Phone/Electronics Policies

The school policies for Uniforms, Cell Phones and Electronics were redistributed during report card pick up as a reminder to parents. Please go to our website's Parent page to download a copy of that notice.

Tardies/Absences

Notices were distributed to families at report card pick up regarding excessive tardies and absences. Please remember that for every minute or day your child is not in school, they are missing out on valuable instructional time. It is also critical that your child be a part of the daily routines in the classroom that prepare them for learning for the day. School hours are from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you received an excessive tardy/absence notice and need support getting your child to school on time, please contact our office so that we can work on connecting you with nearby families that may be able to arrange for a carpool or walking buddies.
