Clients are now able to access preventive dental services at our Welland, Niagara Falls and Thorold clinics. Morning, afternoon and evening appointments are available for children under 18 years of age. Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program UpdateOntario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) clients are able to access services in St. Catharines, Welland and Niagara Falls. As of Aug. 1, increased income eligibility thresholds have officially been implemented within the program. The updates to income eligibility thresholds aim to expand access to dental care and increase quality of life for low-income seniors. Welcome Dr. Claudia Alfaro de Palma!We would like to welcome Dr. Claudia Alfaro de Palma to our dental team. Dr. Alfaro de Palma is a talented dentist with many years of experience in public health dentistry and the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association. Dr. Alfaro de Palma will be working with OSDCP clients at both our Fort Erie clinic and Quest Community Health Centre. In-School Dental ScreeningsSchool dental screenings are back! In accordance with the Public Health Standards under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, Public Health is offering dental screenings to elementary students within Niagara. Enhanced personal protective equipment and cleaning measures have been implemented to ensure safety for all. Mobile Dental ClinicThe mobile dental clinic is back on the road. The mobile dental clinic will be traveling across Niagara to various locations throughout the year. Clinic locations and dates can be found on Niagara’s Mobile Dental Clinic webpage. Due to COVID-19 operating guidelines, clients are encouraged to book an appointment prior to visiting the clinic. If you know of any children under 18 years of age that could benefit from this service or are inquiring about mobile dental services, please have them contact us. Happy Oral Health Month Niagara! Public Health has chosen infant oral health as our topic for this year. To help celebrate, the Dental Program has organized various social media posts, videos, newsletter inserts and various Mobile Dental Clinic locations. Prescription Drug Drop-Off DayOn Saturday, May 14, everyone is invited to drop off any old or unused prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at any participating location: - Niagara Region Headquarters, 1815 Sir Isaac Brock Way, Thorold - Leisureplex Arena, 3 Municipal Centre Drive, Fort Erie - Fleming Memorial Arena, 5020 Serena Drive, Lincoln - Community Health Centre, 4790 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls - Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre, 14 Anderson Lane, Niagara-on-the-Lake - Jack Ballantyne Memorial Arena, 501 King Street, Welland The event will be contact free; drive, walk or cycle through; rain or shine. Please remind patients to remove all personal information on prescription drug labels and packaging. Unable to attend the drop-off day?
