Dear , Re: Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for health care workers I am writing to inform you about the recent changes to the vaccination requirements announced by the Queensland Government that will affect you if you regularly attend and provide care to residents of a residential aged care facility Mandatory vaccination requirements are now in place for residential aged care workers. “Residential aged care workers” include allied health professionals who regularly attend and provide care to residents of a residential aged care facility whether employed or engaged by the resident, residential aged care facility or another person. Residential aged care workers who are unable to have a COVID-19 vaccine can request a COVID-19 vaccination exemption for medical reasons. Exemptions may also be applied in exceptional circumstances. Residential aged care facilities Residential aged care workers will not be allowed to enter, engage in work or duties, or provide services at a residential aged care facility unless the following COVID-19 vaccination requirements have been met:
A ‘health service employee’ means an employee engaged under the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 in Hospital and Health Services and the Department of Health.
